Identifying the Sin Keeping You From Getting Closer to God is Easier than You Think

Identifying the sin holding you back from desiring to give your life completely to God usually (99.99999% of the time) has to deal with what channel you’re using to get info through. The pivotal information you’re getting, whether from Yahweh or otherwise, for guidance has a direct effect on where you’re headed. You know what I mean, bestie. If you’re mixing any info like horoscopes, enneagrams, tarot (or angel cards), sun/moon/and rising signs, crystals or spirit guides into your spiritual arsenal, you’ve actively decided Yah’s intel isn’t enough for you and He will not compete with these mediums you’ve chosen to guide you. We’re free to choose our own path, but He will not share.

In this three part series on how to get closer to Yahuah, we’re going to identify the sin holding you back from desiring to give your life completely to the Most High, identify where in the Word He has promised you victory over an unwillingness to give your life completely to Him, and a repentance prayer to help bridge the gap between you and what has separated you from Yah. It’s time to repair what’s broken in your relationship with God and how you value keeping Him as the only source of guidance in your life. If you’re ready, my friend, let’s begin.

What is a Channel or Channeling?

When you go to psychics, beloved, you’re speaking to someone who is a channel for spirits to speak through. Yahuah came in the flesh so that we could better understand the Word that had been corrupted by Pharisees and Sadducees manipulating it, adding to it, and taking from it for political and spiritual power over God’s people. They persecuted Him for it, taking Him to the cross where He gave up His life for us to be free. Free from what? Free from that bondage to sin and the misperception of what was actually sin (thanks to those Pharisees and Sadducees) that we couldn’t atone for.

Now, we have a different problem. Satan has been defeated, but he’s still been able to convince saints that He doesn’t mean what He says. He’s convinced many of our brothers and sisters in Yahusha that the Bible is incomplete or that we can’t trust our King James Bible because it’s not in the original Hebrew and blah blah blah, yahdy yada yah. It’s a lot of nonsense, and it’s designed to get you to look elsewhere for guidance on how to live and walk in this life.

To understand where I’m going with this, I’m gonna introduce our founding scripture for this series:

20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

Matthew 13:20-21 KJV

If you haven’t been told before, I’m here to let you know so gently and delicately that persecution of the saints is coming: Buckle. Up.

What we see here in this scripture is when Yahuah gives you a promise, it’s so easy to get excited. You might be listening to prophetic voices on TikTok or YouTube and they’re saying all these things that sound like confirmation of what He’s said to you. It feels good. You feel seen and heard by the Elohim, and moreover, you feel like you’re not crazy because all the signs and what you may have even audibly heard from God, someone who doesn’t even know you and your personal situation is saying word for word through a screen to you. You feel it in your spirit, this. Is. The. Most. High. Yah.

But this is not the time to just be happy about knowing God has something for you. They tried to kill Yahusha so they certainly are coming for you, and many believers are not ready for that part of the Word. The part where this is a warning hell has gone into attack mode, because you believe. Hell is ready to steal from you and give your promise from the Most High God to some witches and diviners, some new age gurus, so that they look legit to those caught up in the mainstream deception. So that they have some proof that Yahweh is a liar.

This might be the first time you’re hearing this. That satan really does come to steal, kill, and destroy. The theft part, however, and how and what he does with what is stolen from you may have been a mystery to you until now.

To get into this, I have to really break down what channels are. We’re going to dive into the channels Yah uses, and the ones satan uses to manipulate, confuse, steal, and destroy.

SO TELL ME: HOW DOES CHANNELING KEEP ME FROM GETTING CLOSER TO YAHUAH?

One of the ways that satan really gets us is to deceive us into receiving information from other sources than the Lord. Because we’re using alternative means to build our own futures (and not the ones that Yah has in store for us) we have to go outside of Him to get intel. By doing this, we usually have a channel open to the supernatural, whether knowingly or unknowingly.

So what’s a channel? The word channel, as described by the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, is “a method or system that people use to get information, to communicate, or to send something somewhere.” When we think about this in spiritual terms, this is really powerful. When Isaiah responded to God’s call on his life, he said, “Here I am. Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8) The Elohim was communicating with him and there was a direction that He wanted him to go. We see the same with the prophet Samuel (1 Samuel 3), we see the same with David (2 Samuel 12), we see it with Abraham too (Genesis 12:1-4 KJV). We see the same blueprint throughout the Bible, that when Yahweh calls, there is a destination. There is a movement that follows the call. You are being sent somewhere and the method Yah uses to communicate to you is His Word, whether through prophets (like in David’s case with Nathan speaking to him), His voice directly to you, or the Word in the Bible.

Water is looking for a channel. We see this in another definition of the noun channel. “A passage,” the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary goes on to say, “that water can flow along, especially in the ground, on the bottom of a river, etc.” When we take into consideration what we learned in Part II of How to Be Grateful in Hard Times, that we are the soil Jesus is planting His Word into, and that we remember that we were formed by Yahuah breathing into the dust of the ground (Genesis 2:7), it makes sense that the Living Water (John 4:10, Jeremiah 2:13) is looking for a channel to flow through as well. It’s what our founding text is emphasizing: that the Word of the Most High needs to have you identify which type of soil you are, so that you may rectify any issue you may be having, keeping you from best receiving what He has for you.

In verses 20-21, we are talking about a specific type of soil, a stony one, and it’s when we look at channel as a verb that we get a greater awakening to what we’re going to discuss in the rest of this article.

“To convey,” says the Oxford English Dictionary, “or guide through, or as though through, a channel; to cause to pass along or through a particular route or medium.” This is the transitive form of the verb, meaning the verb has a direct object. There’s something performing the action. In spiritual terms, The Elohim is trying to convey or guide us through, us being the direct object, life. He is sending information to us to guide us, and when we use a different route or medium other than the Almighty God to receive that pivotal information, we have entered the deception satan has deployed to get us away from a loving and all-knowing Yah.

Then Jesus went to work on his disciples. “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat; I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for?

Matthew 16:24-26 MSG

I went through a lot of self help books and let me tell you, this passage is the truth, bestie. I mean it, I really, really do. It wasn’t until I decided that Yah’s way was the only way and I couldn’t interfere with my reason, my logic, and my mental health gurus that I was able to receive what He was saying to me all along and not doubt His direction. It was going to hurt, taking things His way, and to be honest, that is what I’d been avoiding. It was going to separate me from family that I loved dearly to just listen to Him and only Him, not all the talking heads in my life with their opinions and their reason and their… I’ll just say it: witchcraft guiding their advice and own life choices.

This self help and manifestation generation we’re dealing with? All the tools to manifest your best life and the vision boards full of ways to meditate your way into consciousness that will illuminate the path for you blahdy blah? Yeah. It’s one of the ways that satan steals from you: when you doubt He is all you need, you muddle His perfect plan with your lack of faith so that you don’t bear the fruit of His Word He’s planted seeds in your life to produce. Channeling anything other than Yah is something He’s not into. He’s not competing with mediums, He doesn’t care nor does He tolerate the chakras being aligned. He doesn’t love that for you, alright? All these alternative paths are designed and built to lead your astray, and they have been effective for far too long. But not for you after today.

IT’S NOT ALL THAT COMPLICATED: JUST GIVE IT TO YAHWEH INSTEAD OF RELYING ON YOU

Sometimes we overcomplicate things that the Elohim has created to be so simple. We want to add to or take away from the Word of the Most High, when He most often times is direct and means exactly what He says.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Exodus 20:3 KJV

What do you get from that, bestie? I mean, come on, what do you read here, friend? Is it just me or does it say no one else but Him here?

When we check out the word for gods here in the Blue Letter Bible App, we see that the original word used in the text is ‘Elohim.’ Elohim, in Hebrew, is defined as “rulers, judges” in one example [1]. This means that what you’re using outside of Yahusha to “serve you,” is actually ruling over you. We hear it all the time in the self-help and mindfulness space. “Let go of what doesn’t serve you,” they say. “Keep your vibrations high with what serves you,” they say. What they don’t say is that what is allegedly serving you has been given by you the authority to pronounce judgment upon you.

So how is it that Yahusha HaMashiach died so that the authority satan took from Adam, you want to give back to him by allowing witchcraft to infiltrate your home and your bloodline? How is it you’re willingly letting some ‘god’ dictate how you live your life as a believer? I’ll answer you: it’s the easiest and most basic deception in the book— do not believe Yah when He says no other gods before Him. And don’t see these other additives as gods.

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Joshua 24:15 KJV

This is what the stony ground doesn’t want to believe, and it gets hard and stony because of the unbelief that is stopping the Word from being able to penetrate its tough exterior. It doesn’t want to believe that the gods of our fathers could possibly be that astrology that you’re addicted to when you won’t date someone who isn’t the right sign. It doesn’t want you to believe that the angel cards are still tarot cards, and that you’re getting intel from the demons, not the dead relative you’re worshipping. It definitely doesn’t want you to see the shrine in your house to your dead relative as worship, no. You’re just being guided by ancestral spirits, you’re just honoring your family. That’s not witchcraft. Just like praying to dead saints isn’t witchcraft either.

This is the deception, my friend. This is where you get out of alignment with Yah: by not seeing a thing for what it truly is. You can call it whatever you like when you flood your feed with angel numbers and twin flame ideology, but it’s the same thing that someone back in the day has tried (and our biblical ancestors most definitely did), and it never worked out well for them. It’s the same witchcraft, just rebranded for the 21st century mind.

LEGALLY THE ELOHIM HAS TO HOLD YOU AND YOUR DESCENDANTS ACCOUNTABLE FOR WITCHCRAFT YOU DON’T REPENT OF

‘The Lord is slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving wickedness and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting (avenging) the wickedness and guilt of the fathers on the children, to the third and fourth generations [that is, calling the children to account for the sins of their fathers].’

Numbers 14:18 AMP

Who you’ve given the authority to in your life, dictates the covenant you’ve entered into. We spoke on covenants in this post and why we must legally understand what we are signing up for when we give our lives to Yahusha HaMashiach. Yah has made His covenant CRYSTAL C L E A R in Deuteronomy 28, and He keeps it. So if you break covenant with the sin of bowing down to false gods, there are not only curses that come upon you (as outlined in Deuteronomy 28:15-68), but He’s saying here in Numbers that you’ll bring your relatives under this very curse. This is very important to understand. Yes, you have salvation through Christ Jesus, but it’s like… how best to explain this?

Say you break your mother’s vase in her house. You’re forgiven, even though you didn’t ask for forgiveness and you don’t go to her about it. She knew you broke it, and even brought it up, but you just don’t even apologize. You still get to live in her house. This was something of great value that had been passed down for generations that not only was worth money but brought a lot of joy to the family. You’re still in her house and she loves you just the same, but you can’t pass this down to your daughter now, and that joy of being able to pass this heirloom down is now gone.

The scary thing? When we break spiritual vases, like commandments of the Most High, and don’t ask for forgiveness, we have opened a door in our life for satan to infiltrate because of God’s own Word. Your daughter, who you don’t bring up this vase to, now doesn’t know what she’s missing. What she gets as a replacement heirloom or inheritance is pride instead. Because you were too proud to just say you’re sorry to your mother, pride has slipped in. You don’t understand why your daughter is so proud now and can’t be told nothing. She doesn’t see anything wrong with her behavior because she doesn’t know what life was like living in your mother’s house with the vase that brought so much joy, that there wasn’t room for so much pride to exist. So now this proud daughter has a daughter who is equally proud, and down the bloodline no one knows how such a joyful family became such a proud one, and they think they’re living in the same house you did but they’re mistaken. They’ve drifted out of the house into a counterfeit one, and they’ve stopped going to their mothers whenever they did something hurtful and were too proud to ever apologize for their wrongdoings.

I say this to give an example of what it’s like when you’re too proud to go to God for forgiveness, even as a confessing Christian who has salvation through Yahusha HaMashiach, and who down the road and the bloodline now has a strained relationship with Him. You won’t have open ears to hear from Him, so He won’t be able to tell you what He requires to get you from up under the curse.

When He’s calling to you, my friend, it’s important to really hear what He has to say, not just because He’s good and He has amazing plans for you, but because more lives are at stake than just yours. It’s what Numbers 14:18 really emphasizes in the AMP version, that we are called to account for the sins of the ones who came before us.

For many are called, but few are chosen.

Matthew 22:14 KJV

Many are called by a good and righteous God saying, “Hey, look at this! Take of this!” But if you have stony ground that His Word is just bouncing off of, you cannot be used (or chosen) by the Elohim to take care of generational bondages and curses that are affecting your family. You, my friend, may just be the one He’s chosen to set your family free of something demonic that has been terrorizing your family for generations. It’s time to put down all the manifestation manuals, stop going to the yoga retreats, stop trying to open your third eye. It’s now time to put away from you every other thing you’re using to get guidance from “the universe” and go to the Creator of the universe instead.

Getting Closer to Yah Requires You to Put Away Anything Keeping You From Devoting Your Life to Him

The desire to just let go and let our Great Almighty Yahweh be the only source in your life can be stifled by the very things you’re using to guide you through life outside of Him. It’s really simple, my friend. I mean it. Just putting down all the cute and quirky crystals and moon full rituals you’ve been doing like scripting and all that jazz? Yeah, it’s not gonna work in this decade where it’s time to choose which God you really are gonna serve in this life.

The Most High Yah has better for you than these manifestation gurus can even divine up, truly. And to get to that we’re going to dive into how to identify what scriptures can be applied to your specific situation keeping you from being willing to give your life to Him completely. This is the year of surrender for you, my friend, and I’m so blessed to be used to write this next article to help you remove the blockages from your path so you can walk with Yahusha in the fullness of everything He has for you.
